Process & Safety Coordinator

  SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Coordinates the development and implementation of procedures governing the production functions; works closely with the Corporate Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure safety regulations and procedures are in place according to Corporate Health & Safety Program.  Position is also responsible for coordinating training of personnel regarding production processes and health & safety and conducting periodic audits to ensure location is in compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  2. Responsible for projecting a positive image of AgReliant Genetics.
  3. Production Processes:
  1. analyzes work processes and proposes procedures for compliance;
  2. establishes training programs with the Product Quality Analyst;
  3. ensures annual training is conducted and documented as required;
  4. Participates in Corporate training sessions as requested;
  5. Maintains training records for location;
  6. Conducts audits to ensure compliance: takes samples, checks records, and performs inspections.
  1. Health & Safety:
  1. schedules and conducts training as required;
  2. maintains training records as required by Corporate Health & Safety Program;
  3. maintains OSHA 300 Log;
  4. Chairs local safety committee.
  1. Other duties as needed.

Duties and responsibilities may be revised, as needed, by the Location Manager either verbally and/or in writing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree desired, Bachelors degree in Agriculture preferred; 1-3 years seed corn production experience desired; previous health & safety experience desired; excellent communication skills, team player; detail orientated; good computer skills – Microsoft Office; knowledge of seed industry preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work required hours; ability to lift 50 lbs.; able to work in both plant and field; some overnight travel required; must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the Motor Vehicle Guidelines of the Company.
