Regional Agronomist - Great Lakes Hybrids

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Assist the sales department in handling agronomic issues, train and assist district sales managers and dealers in agronomic information.  
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  2. Responsible for projecting a positive image of Great Lakes Hybrids and AgReliant Genetics.
  3. Provide product data to sales and marketing departments to develop sales messages for all products. 
  4. Supervising NET and GAP plots and assist in entries into the University, FIRST and other testing programs.
  5. Manage all day to day agronomist issues within the assigned area. Rides and sells with DSM’s in the area to train, coach, mentor and assist their agronomic issues.
  6. Holds dealer meetings on as agreed upon with sales department for communication, training and support.
  7. Travel within the area of responsibility to learn all aspects of company’s product line.
  8. Communicates all agronomic issues to product manager.
  9. Basic agronomic support for area.  Assist in customer service issues as requested.
  10. Attends team meetings and other company meetings as requested
  11. Provides input to corn and soybean committees on product
  12. View Net/GAP and other corn plots with selling dealers and DSM/RTL to understand corn performance issues
  13. Attending all agronomic training meetings of the brand and company. 
  14. Attend Regional Team meetings held on a regular basis by the Regional Team Leader to report product and agronomic issues progress and receive update information on GLH brand sales progress and marketing direction.
  15. When necessary, assist National Sales Manager and Brand Manager at national sales functions in presentations and sales training as they pertain to their assigned team.
  16. Other duties as required.

Duties and responsibilities may be revised as needed by the National Sales Manager either verbally and / or in writing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or related field desired; five years seed industry experience preferred; excellent communication skills; team oriented; detail orientated; required computer skills – MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work required hours; ability to lift 25 lbs.; must have valid driver’s license and meet MVR guidelines; some overnight travel required.
